Julia Mortyakova

As a leader, Julia has a passion for helping people through the facilitating communication and exchange of ideas. She is an advocate of interdisciplinary collaboration. As an artist, she believes in active community engagement of audiences in performance through concert lectures, and choice of repertoire.

Julia has received several awards for her leadership, including:

  • Named Honored Artist by the Mississippi State Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts (2017)
  • Samuel Eshborn Service Award from the Steinhardt School of Education, New York University for leadership activities within the school
  • New York University’s President’s Service Award for Leadership as member of the Steinhardt Graduate Student Organization
  • The honor of being chosen as Master’s Class Representative to receive the diploma on behalf of the entire graduating class from the Steinhardt School of Education, New York University 2006
  • Membership into Alpha Epsilon Lambda, Graduate Honor Society
  • Student Profile Honor, featured student at the University of Miami 2009 Commencement
